Andy Dennis

Hub Manager (VIC|TAS|SA)

After losing a close friend to suicide in his early 20s, Andy was determined do something that would help others battling with their mental health. This drive led him to initiate a grassroots Movember campaign during his university years, starting crucial conversations and raising thousands for the cause. He went on to work for Movember, meeting hundreds of people who shared their experiences of mental health struggles and loss.

His personal journey was marked with its own challenges. Growing up in a regional town before attending an all-boys boarding school, Andy was surrounded by messages that suggested being gay was not ok. At 25, he came out to his family and friends in what he recalls as one of the most liberating moments of his life. It has taken him many years to address his own internalised homophobia.

Andy took a facilitator role with Tomorrow Man in 2019. Despite stepping in without prior facilitation experience, Andy's natural ability to welcome people and create safe and nurturing environments ensured he thrived. He was soon drawn to the Tomorrow Woman program, working with and learning from the Tomorrow Woman facilitators about the experience of women across Australia. Harnessing his caring nature, he was able to challenge the outdated stereotype that has hurt too many men and women across Australia.

Love took him overseas in 2020, but by 2023, he found himself gravitating back to Tomorrow Man, taking on the role of Victorian Hub Manager for both Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman.

In his downtime, Andy loves socialising and exploring Melbourne's thriving arts and culture scene, he is an aspiring horticulturist of small spaces and is currently completing an honours in Psychology. He recently spent two years living in Paris with his partner where he claims to only have learned “une petit peu” French, yet became a connoisseur of the french fry.
